Fence Painted with Farrow and Ball Exterior Eggshell
Ever wondered how good your fence would look if you painted it with Farrow and Ball Exterior Eggshell? This quick blog explains all.
I painted this green fence using Farrow and Ball Exterior Eggshell. The paint is completely water-based and so easy to apply. It also comes with additives to stop algae growth, which is brilliant for a fence. You need to prime timber before using the F&B Eggshell, but Farrow and Ball Primer / Undercoat also blocks knot bleed and tannins etc, which is perfect.
We did the pressure wash, sanding (killed a sanding machine – mouse), knotting fluid, and then base coat. We decided one coat of exterior eggshell should be fine. The opacity of Farrow and Ball Eggshell is fantastic.
It would have been lovely to get tester pots in the right finish first, but we wanted to seal the fence as soon as we’d finished the prep, so there was no time. We wanted a modern green colour, but you can’t really tell what the colour will be like when you buy a matt tester pot. So, we chose Mizzle from the colour cards – I do love it, but I’d say that going one shade darker than you think in the garden is a good plan. It looks almost white in bright sunshine.
